Naked activites are harmless, healthy and "fun" and the more people who realise this the healthier, in both body mind and Spirit, the people of the world will be.

You must first try to forget the brainwashing we all receive from birth. ~ It’s a tough job but at least you’re here. ~ You already have the battle half won. ~ You’re about to learn that clothes are indeed a farce. ~ You’ll be amazed. ~ People being naked are not really a bunch of weirdos as you may have heard or thought... ~ Not only that, but you are probably one at heart yourself. ~

"This page is about freedom from non-pollution of the soul from the expectations of 'others'.
The freedom to 'just be' to dwell within.... without conflict"

Being Naked is a way of life in harmony with nature, characterized by the practice of personal or communal nudity, with the intention of encouraging respect for oneself, respect for others and for the environment.

This comes most easily to those who shed the psychological and social encumbrance of clothing to see and respect the human body as created. Being Naked also promotes optimum health through complete contact of the body with the natural elements, e.g. sun, wind, air, water.

The concept of nakedness is a subjective one. To a simple mind, to an innocent mind, nudity is not offensive; it has its own beauty. But up to now, man has been fed on poison, and gradually, with the passage of time, this poison has "spread" from one pole of his existence to the other. Consequently, our attitude to "nakedness" is completely unnatural

Before Western civilization, nakedness was a normal element of life and considered acceptable in many circumstances. However, as Freud describes in Civilization and Its Discontents, psychological repression of the awareness of our natural being was a necessary step in building civilization.

" A complex civilization has an enormous investment in differentiated apparel. It is no accident that one of the first matters that a revolutionary regime turns its attention to is clothing. The French Revolution decreed classical grace and simplicity. The Chinese homogenized clothing. The Ayatollah Khomeini in Iran returned women to the black chador and so on. . . . Sexual energy is needed by the authorities of the world to maintain order. . . . It immediately becomes obvious why the true obscenity of killing and violence has always been of less concern to those in power than the pseudo-obscenity of erotic acts. Death provides no scope for a network of regulations by which society can be manipulated. . . . But sex is a permanent fountain of dynamic energy, which can be tapped for social purposes by regulations concerning marriage, divorce, adultery, fornication, incest, homosexuality, chastity, promiscuity, decency and so on. All those who wield power intuitively perceive that in the last resort their authority derives from the repression, and regulation, of sexuality, and that free-flowing "sexuality" is the biological equivalent of anarchy. All transferrals of power, all revolutions, are invariably accompanied by transformations of the regulations governing sexuality."
Paul Ableman

"The Beauty of the female form in motion"

In the words of Frederick Douglass: "Find out just what people will submit to and you have found out the exact amount of justice and wrong which will be imposed upon them. The limits of tyrants are prescribed by the endurance of those who they oppress."

Historical origins of the repression of nudity

Leo Tolstoy, Albert Einstein, Bernard Shaw, Isidora Duncan, Maximilian Voloshin, Benjamin Franklin,Alexander Graham Bell, President John Quincy Adams, John D. MacArthur, Dr. Seuss... - what all these people have in common? All of them, in different epochs and in different countries, have been lovers of "nudity" orconfirmed followers of a natualistic - healthy lifestyle in harmony with nature. "What about us - don't we love sports and physical activities and nature?" - would retort many. Certainly they do, but in contrast to naturists, the average man does it in clothes. Still there is a huge number of people all over the world, who don't make a fuss about the clothes... "or its
absence"
. They are - natural
.

Stereotypes can and often do lead to prejudice.

No ideology or Belief is harder to combat than an ideology that does not admit that it's an ideology. No oppressed group is more oppressed than one that is oppressed by a group that wields power over it by claiming that it itself is oppressed.

The view from the top of the mountain
or an open mind often allows understanding of the bigger picture

The feeling of standing nude atop a mountain peak cannot be duplicated! But in order to preserve this opportunity for future generatons, we must take care of our planet. Too much damage has already been done; we might not be able to repair it, but we can avoid further damage.

There are many people that make up the society in which we live and because of this there are many types of lifestyles that people might consider to engage in. For instance, there are many married couples but there are also many people that choose to live together without getting married and these people might even have a child or children together. In addition, many people have been upset by the lifestyle that has been labeled the homosexual lifestyle. Many people are upset by the homosexual lifestyle because they believe that this type of lifestyle entails much excess sex using no protection. Therefore, it is believed that the homosexual lifestyle promotes the spreading of sexually transmitted diseases such as A.I.D.S. In addition to disapproving of the homosexual lifestyle many people in society today disapprove of the lifestyle of people who" want to be naked" because they believed that being nude should take place in the privacy of the house instead of outdoors on a beach or other location.

I think society is so concerned about the nude lifestyle because it believes that naked people or naturalists love to go nude "without concern" for other people’s feelings. People might feel that naturalist will push their beliefs on other people to change the entire society to nude or natural . Moreover, it is possible that society is "against the naked lifestyle" because it equates it with sex and sexuality.

For hundreds of years, people have assumed a connection between nudity and sex - after all, the only time many people are nude, other than while bathing, is during sex. Naturists reject this assumption. Nudity does not automatically lead to sex - and, incidentally, you can have sex with your clothes on. The two are quite simply not related
Dennis Kirkpatrick

This connection might harbor the value that people who follow a naked lifestyle also have a lot of indiscriminate sex which could lead to many sexually diseases such as A.I.D.S. However, believing that "nudists or naturalist will" promote sex with anyone at anytime is an example of a stereotype.

Any male or Female
who is somehow offended by the sight of a nude body,
probably has some major psychological issues
.

The Male Female body is beautiful because it is
" the brilliant end point of millions of years of evolution",

Get naked. Spend some time loving the beautiful you that you are

So how do YOU feel about being naked? In public?

Clad. In her absolute, primordial nakedness she is free from all covering of "Illusion". She is Nature (Prakriti in Sanskrit), stripped of 'clothes'. It symbolizes that she is completely beyond name and form, completely beyond the illusory effects of "Maya" (false consciousness). Her nudity is said to represent totally illumined consciousness, unaffected by maya. Kali is the bright fire of truth, which cannot be hidden by the clothes of ignorance. Such truth simply burns them away.

(Truth is Naked)

They say you can see a person’s soul if you stare into his eyes

but perhaps the quickest way to really know someone is to have him take off his/her clothes.

I've always maintained that if we can learn to truly embrace and love our naked bodies for what they are...just beautiful examples of nature...then we'll possibly arrive at a better understanding of one another. Clothes do not make the man or woman or child. It's what is in our hearts and minds and souls that counts. And our naked bodies are merely beautiful vessels for those hearts and minds and souls

Levinson says that because "the Web for the last 10 years "years" has made more nudity available," the culture is (finally) coming to recognize that it isn't a mortal sin to take your clothes off when there are cameras around. "We as a society are finally growing up and it's a healthy thing," Levinson says.

Many people cant be naked around others,to undress is to bare their insecurities.

Everyone is born naked?

Perhaps the real problem, is most of us have become so brainwashed, that we can only see the body as "sexual",or even worse "Dirty"

"A guys pespective"

"The main hangup in the world today is hypocrisy and insecurity. If people can't face up to the fact of other people being naked, or whatever they want to do, then we're never going to get anywhere. People have got to become aware that it's none of their business and that being nude is not obscene. Being ourselves is what's important. If everyone practised being themselves instead of pretending to be what they aren't, there would be peace."
John Lennon

Perhaps we see a naked body through our years of conditioning,

If someone is offended at the sight of a naked human, as sad as that may be, they have the right to be protected from them selves.

Which scene may be hazardous to children?

From the Godfather: The photo on the left shows a corrupt police officer just after he has been shot in the head and the throat. That scene was shown, uncut and unpixellated, on TV. But just a little later, when Apollonia takes a step back from Michael Corleone to remove her slip — that scene was cut out of this broadcast.

It illustrates a point. Society is more invested in protecting children and young teens from nudity than it is in protecting them from violence.

More

"Public nudity" supposedly offends many people. But legislators are hard-pressed to show that public nudity per se harms anyone (although some are now making unsubstantiated claims about a negative effect on children). On the other hand, legislators have little footing in showing that public nudity is immoral other than to appeal fallaciously to cultural norms.

Bliss

Being *psychologically injured* by the sight of a naked human body?
What the hell have we come to?

'I think that there is a growing malaise in the present day. People are, more and more, becoming victims of the importance of their appearance and real social pressure. The expectation of beauty is terrible.
France Guillain, author of 'The Joy of Being Nude'

'Public opinion has too often tended to confuse nudism or exhibitionism with naturism, whereas they are totally different. There is not the same mentality; for our part, we search for simplicity and our nudity gives us a pleasurable sensation of physical freedom and leisure, without us thinking about what the person facing us is like, without paying attention to the looks from other people. We are among ourselves and the atmosphere is a particularly convivial one.

"I have often wondered that people make such a very big deal over either being naked, or seeing another person naked. It's a little strange to me that most people seem to think that seeing the natural state of another member of their own species is somehow harmful, immoral, wrong, perverted, or in some other way bad. I've never had anybody actually explain to me why it was harmful, but there seem to be a lot of people willing to insist that it is. They even pass laws to protect us from seeing another member of our own species in a natural state"

Clothed with the sky

Nudity has often been repressed for economic reasons, not because it was considered immoral

WHEN DID RELIGIONS DRESS THE GODS???

The right-wing Christian Coalition uses blanket attacks on mere nudity and other matters of "morality" to rally support for their cause. Their method, as described by ACLU Executive Director Ira Glasser, is "to prey upon the fears of millions of people who are all too willing to believe that sacrificing personal liberty will help solve our nation's problems." A Missouri legislator, in 1993, introduced a bill that would have made virtually all public nudity--and even some nudity in the home--a felony punishable by up to ten years in prison! This bill was fortunately defeated, though by a narrow margin. Similar bills have been proposed all over the country in recent years.

It is so important for both "skinny-dippers" as well as the general public to have accurate knowledge of how our biblical history really viewed the naked body. Knowing how and where the myths and misunderstandings occured that is causing our current body shame is enlightening.

The following conversation between Jesus and his disciples:

His disciples asked, When will you become revealed to us and when shall we see you? Jesus answered, When you disrobe without being ashamed and take up your garments and place them under your feet like little children and tread on them, then will you see the son of the Living One, and you will not be afraid.[
Gospel of Thomas

One may note the comments of Pope John Paul II in this matter: "The human body can remain nude and uncovered and preserve intact its splendor and its beauty... Nakedness as such is not to be equated with physical shamelessness... Immodesty is present only when nakedness plays a negative role with regard to the value of the person...The human body is not in itself shameful... Shamelessness (just like shame and modesty) is a function of the interior of a person

The Bible never describes human nakedness as being inherently shameful or inherently sinful

WHEN A MAN IS IN FEAR, even though he has been a life long atheist, he starts turning into a theist. Priests/Gurus came to know about it, and then they manipulated it down the ages. The whole past of humanity is fear ridden. And the greatest way to create fear is to make man feel guilty about natural things. He cannot drop them, and he cannot enjoy them because of the fear of hell, so he is in a double bind. That double bind is the base of man's exploitation. You cannot just drop your nakedness and sexuality because some stupid priest/Guru is saying that it is wrong. It has nothing to do with your idea of right and wrong; it is something natural, something in your very being. You were concieved out of it, each of your cells is a sexual cell. Just by talking, you cannot drop it. Yes, you can start repressing it, and by repressing you can go on accumulating it in the unconscious, and that becomes a wound. And the more you repress, the more obsessed you become with it. And the more obsessed you become, the more guilty you feel. It is a vicious circle. Now you are caught in the trap of the priests/Gurus, and of those seeking to control YOU .

"Commercial Break"

The naked body is still considered unnatural. Nudity on American televtsion is rare. During the daytime hours, when children are watching, nudity isn't permissible. Children are protected from the "damaging" effects of viewing a natural, normal, and harmless human body, but body violence is condoned as entertainment for our children and ourselves. Such confused value systems help fill the psychiatric couch! and keep us at war...

“This is what we really look like, this is who we really ARE;

Centuries of oppressive thought have convinced many people that the body is a shameful, worthless object that should be hidden. "Nonsense!" The human body is one of the most elegant, masterful and valuable things on earth. There are few things in existence which compare to it on an artistic, technical, or philosophical level. Celebrate the human body! It's one of the truly unique creations.

Judaism
In some parts of Judaism and in some Jewish communities, men and women (separately) use ritual baths called mikvot for a variety of reasons, mostly religious in the present day. Immersion in a mikvah requires that water covers the entire body (including the entire head). To make sure that water literally touches every part of the body, all clothing, jewelry and even bandages must be removed.

When did we become a society that lets women think our own body parts are gross?,"

Can you concieve the Disturbed mind that see's
the beauty of breast feeding as Lewd or dirty

At the same time, Orthodox and Religious Jews are very protective about their naked body. Under the laws of Tzniut (modesty), both men and women cannot reveal the body parts considered to have sexual connotation[citation needed] (including upper arms, collarbones, legs, and — for married women and all men — hair, which is covered completely or partially). It is postulated in the Shulchan Aruch that one must uncover as little body as possible when in the toilet room and even when changing before sleep (trousers are often taken off and exchanged for the pajamas under the covers).[citation needed] Although full nudity is permitted, and according to many, encouraged, during sexual intercourse, there is a law that it can not be done in sunlight and during the daytime. It must be done in the dark, and in private.

There is no connection between sex and violence. The very use of the phrase "sex and violence" is deceptive and manipulative because it is a deliberate attempt to link two unrelated things that the alarmists have moral reservations about, which they hope they can cause other people to join them in....

Conservative and Reform Judaism generally do not follow the the Shulchan Aruch and don't share the same attitudes about nudity in private.

"The stripping off of clothes particularly by married and elderly women is a way of shaming men -- some of whom believe that if they see the naked bodies they will go mad or suffer some great harm. The curse extends not just to local men but also to any foreigner who it is believed would become impotent at the sight of "the naked mother," says Sokari Ekine, the International Coordinator of the Niger Delta Women.

Islam
In Islam the area of the body not meant to be exposed in public is called the awrah, and while referred to in the Qur'an, is addressed in more detail in hadith.

If we do come out from behind what we have and come to accept our every flaw, we'll soon come to see our own beauty. In so doing, we will be able to see the beauty in others and will soon realize others are seeing the same in us

For men, the awrah is from the navel to knees, which means that in public Muslim men have to cover themselves at least from the navel down to the knees.
Some Muslim women wear the hijab, which covers the entire body except for the hands, the feet, and the face.
Sharia law in some Islamic countries enforce women to observe purdah, covering their entire bodies, except the face (see burqa). However, the degrees of covering vary according to local custom and/or interpretation of Sharia Law.
A dead body's awrah shall remain covered and not seen.

Jainism
Traditionally, the digambara (sky-clad) monks of the Jain religion of India practice complete nudity as an ascetic discipline and a rejection of materialism.

Seymour Fisher writes: "The implications of "nudity"as a way of declaring one's complete freedom have often elicited strong countermeasures from those in authority. Nudity is punishable by death in some cultures. The Roman Catholic church has taught in convent schools that it is sinful to expose your body even to your own eyes. The wearing of clothes represents a form of submission to prevailing mores. It is like putting on a 'citizen's uniform' and agreeing to play the game."

“This is what we really look like, this is who we really ARE; we assume all these identities, we dress ourselves up in certain ways, but until we can adjust our inner outfit, our outer outfit isn’t always integrated in our truth.”

"It is an interesting question how far men would retain their respective rank if they were divested of their clothes." All other things held equal, when nude, a king appears no different than a peasant, a doctor no different than a steelworker, a wealthy CEO no different than his lowest-paid employee. Thus, these classifications disappear and the playing field is leveled. Thoreau

Clothing has become an infatuation, a status symbol that people hide behind. People are judged by the clothes and ornaments they wear. Clothing separates people by ranks and uniforms. A man in a suit is important, a blue police uniform is a sign of authority. Naturists agree that it is okay to dispose of the social hierarchy created by clothing. When there is no clothing that separates people, everyone is equal. As one respondent told me; "There is only one uniform and everyone is wearing it." Almost every participant in the "surveys" and interviews conducted, stated that there is a great sense of equality that is present within the community. It seems that sexual differences are stressed through clothing, and not nudity. The sexual equality that is present at "naturist clubs" and gatherings is a big difference from everyday life outside of the naturist lifestyle.

Clothing does not make you what you are. We are not our clothes, and they are not us. When nude, you will discover how important it is to be accepted for who you are and not what you wear. It takes courage to push your personal boundaries and go naked with others. Not everyone is able to do this, but I invite you to try it and see for yourself the changes that will occur in your life

When nude, we can't hide behind our money, education, titles, and property.
In the nude, no one is rich or poor, educated or illiterate, a doctor or a maid.
We are all the same —
"naked".

A Second Opinion on Sunshine...: It Can Be Good Medicine After All

By the Classical Period of ancient Greece, nude exercise and athletic competition had become part of the way of life for Greek men, and a practice which separated "modern" Greeks both from other, "barbarian" cultures and from their own past. ~ The original Olympic games were conducted in the nude. ~ Plato described nudity in exercise as a practical, useful, and rational innovation; Thucydides promoted it as simpler, freer, and more democratic, a cultural distinction between the Greek soldier who must be in shape, lean and muscular, not portly and prosperous, and the "barbarians" who announced their status and wealth by wearing expensive garments that gave a false impression of elegance and authority.

"Nudity in sport" was first introduced in the city-state of Sparta, during the late archaic period. The custom of exercising naked was closely associated with pedagogic pederasty and with the practice of anointing the body with olive oil to accentuate its beauty and erotic appeal.

Unlike other Greeks, Spartans also sometimes went naked casually, such as in the public city area. They were also the only city-state where women and girls also competed in the nude.

In the book The Zen of Running from 1974 it was recommended to run barefoot and "as undressed as possible" in order to get "well bathed by sun and air"

It spread to the whole of Greece, Greater Greece and even its furthest colonies, and the athletes from all its parts, coming together for the Olympic Games and the other Panhellenic Games, competed naked in almost all disciplines, with the exception of chariot races

Gladiator When fighting in the arena, against one another or against wild beasts, would be armed with swords, shields etc., but would otherwise be partly or totally naked . When Christianity in the fourth century became the state religion, gladiatorial games were soon abandoned, and the concept of nudity as 'sinful' took root.
In Japan, female sumo wrestlers ."wrestled in the nude"

The top event of "naturist sport" in Europe (and perhaps worldwide) is the famous International Naturist Sports Week in Hungarian naturist camping and recreational center of Sziksósfürdo near Szeged. Since 1989, the 7-day-event takes place every summer during the last week of July. Almost 40 different forms of "sport" are on the agenda of this event, with almost 400 participants from all over Europe.

I think being naked can be a sign of "freedom", of being in-peace with yourself.

Whatever your naked body does have,
I'm sure it is absolutely beautiful,.
That's the thing about naked bodies.
They're all unique and they're all beautiful.
Just because they are.

The Male Female body is
no matter what the Shape,
"beautiful" because it is
" the brilliant end point of millions of years of evolution"

Self perception is such a puzzling subject for us all.
If you think about your image we all have a "type" of our own.
The idea of looking better comes from self-critisicm.

Have you heard people discussing the merits of perfect bodies and how those who don't have them shouldn't show them to the rest of the world. The 300-pound female bodies donned in denim and gauze-like material. Flabby, middle-aged men in Speedos. They speak as if the world was made up of only two kinds of people — perfect and most decidedly not perfect. There seems to be no "in-between" for most.

Many people talk as if perfection was real and wasn't the end result of physically airbrushing away freckles and healthy protruding blood vessels and digitally altering the least bit of contour out of the picture. Sadly they dont see themselves as perfect and automatically categorized themselves as not beautiful.

Most women are not models; quite the contrary. They come in all shapes and sizes and are beautiful just as we are. One trip to a nudist event and a woman will be unburdened and free forever of her self-limiting ideas. Along with shedding her clothes, she will shed the body-shame society has dumped on her. She will finally be able to challenge the deeply-held belief that she is unacceptable as she is.

Anyone who's spent any amount of time in ill-fitting, uncomfortable
clothing knows how good it feels when it's not being worn. Clothing
is, by nature, something foreign to the body, and its presence is always known to the wearer. When you're not constantly being reminded that you're dressed, it's easier to think about other things! There is a tremendous feeling of freedom when nude. Once you have been swimming nude, you'll never understand why anyone would ever want to wear
clothes in the water.

While Naked , that man's $600 suit is no longer the standout feature in the room. Without her Victoria's Secret underwire, that woman's sparkling diamond ring isn't what the other women are focusing on anymore. .

Too much emphasis is put on the perfect body by clothing-obsessed society. Naturists know that almost no one has a perfect body, and that beauty can be found in bodies of all shapes, sizes, colors, and ages. Nudity is the means to the goal of body acceptance; when nude, the full beauty of the human body is exposed, creating pride in what you've got and reducing the desire for what you've not.

With nothing to hide or hide behind, everyone is left with the only thing we really own — our body. I think maybe friends have a hard time picturing naked bodies that aren't perfect and haven't been airbrushed. In fairness to them, it would be a little weird if they did picture it because it isn't a norm for most people.

Pretty, in-shape bodies are a pleasure for the eyes to behold, no doubt. The way some dress themselves, in-shape or not, speaks volumes of how they view themselves. Sometimes the story they tell with the way they dress is so sad and so lonely, it's hurtful to see. They'd be so much better off nude,

It's easy and convenient to judge others when our own flaws are covered up. When no one is covered with anything, it's quite suddenly not about the others or what they look like. It's very much about what others can see of us. More specifically, it's about what we see of ourselves and know we are showing the world. When nude , we've no choice but to accept our every flaw. Either that or banish ourselves to the safe haven of clothes.

Fear of Nudity

Many people although they would like to. refuse to go nude because they feel that their height, weight, build, features, etc. are unacceptable. There is no need to feel that you must conform to a standard of beauty or acceptability, especially one you had no part in creating! People come in all shapes, sizes, colors, ages, and beliefs. Some have even undergone surgeries, mastectomies, etc., and have the scars to prove it (many have said that nudity helped them further accept these scars.) In Reality, there is no ideal perfect body other than yourself. If you can accept yourself for what you are, you will have no problem overcoming your percieved conditioned imperfections.

Known by a number of names - Nudophobia, Fear of Nakedness, and Fear of Nudity being the most common - the problem often significantly impacts the quality of life. It can cause panic attacks and keep people apart from loved ones and business associates. Symptoms typically include shortness of breath, rapid breathing, irregular heartbeat, sweating, nausea, and overall feelings of dread, although everyone experiences nakedness phobia in their own way and may have different symptoms

Spencer Tunick

Like all fears and phobias, nakedness phobia is created by the unconscious mind as a protective mechanism. At some point in your past, there was likely an event linking nudity or nakedness and emotional trauma. Whilst the original catalyst may have been a real-life scare of some kind, the condition can also be triggered by myriad, benign events like movies, TV, or perhaps seeing someone else experience trauma.

Often It's not about what we might see but rather what others might see.

Why is it required by law that women’s breasts be kept hidden from view. ~ Why females are being kept prisoner in their bras. Like Pavlov’s dogs we were trained. ~ So we salivate. ~ Do you enjoy being lead through your paces? :-/ ~ Breasts, male or female, have nothing to do with sex. ~ Sorry! ~ They are only feeding devices for babies. ~ Men’s are atrophied, vestigal and unused, but basically the same as women. ~ Some male boobs are even larger than womens’. ~In todays society, breasts, boobs or whatever you want to call them are sold as a product. ~ They are marketed just like anything else, and at an extremely high price per pound.

A "naked body"doesn't have to be about sex. It can be sensual, it can be "sexual", yes. But it does not have to be. Your naked body can just be a true representation of who you are. Bare to the world, freckles, roly poly stomachs, flabby thighs and all.

My assertion is that every Woman/Man has a beautiful body. But sadly that is just a personal belief, I can't help wondering why so many women feel such a sense of "inadequacy"and shame

Centuries of oppressive thought have convinced many people that the body is a shameful, worthless object that should be hidden.
Nonsense!
The human body is one of the most elegant, masterful and valuablethings on earth. There are few things in existence which compare to it on an artistic, technical, or philosophical level. Celebrate the human body! It's one of only a handful of truly unique creations.

The narrow minded point of view is that not wearing clothing is shameless. However, people who love to be naked can not quite understand the fixation with "shame". We can not quite understand why one should be ashamed of their nude body. Perhaps shame comes from being scared to acknowledge one's imperfections as normal.

If someone is offended at the sight of a naked human, as sad as that may be, they do have the right to be protected from them selves.

Are you comfortable being Naked?

Why don't you try your hand at "being a nudist" in your own home.

Try sleeping nude, if you don't already--once you get used to it, you won't want to sleep any other way.

Then, when you take your shower or bath, don't grab for a robe except for comfort. Do your nails or set your hair or just read the newspaper perhaps "dance". You could even "try at work" or "Shopping" at "Study":)

I think you Might enjoy it.

The recent discovery that some forms of depression respond to daily treatment with bright light has called attention to the popular notion that sunlight is "soul restoring." ~ Many people with seasonal mood swings seem to gravitate toward sunlight. ~ They also tend to walk around the house turning on lights to alleviate their symptoms.

Observations of the mood-elevating effects of sunlight may also partly explain the high rates of suicide and alcohol abuse in places like Seattle and Sweden, where sunshine in winter is extremely limited.~ To counteract the depressing effects of short winter days, psychiatrists suggest taking advantage of sunlight by scheduling time outdoors each day.

If you exercise, try it without clothes, it feels wonderful.

It is such a relief when you can finally be comfortable with yourself.

Taking your clothes off will have some amazing side-effects in your life. You will discover that your body image starts to improve. You will begin to think differently about the connection between being nude and sexuality, and you will realize that they don't walk hand-in-hand. Men and women can socialize together naked without it being an orgy. Respect for yourself and others will increase, You'll realize that nudists are unique people, indeed.

Being Naked is no different than anything else in your life. Once you are accustomed to it, you'll wonder what was so difficult about Being Naked. Once you get here, though, you will never want to get dressed again. Being Naked will cease to be something that you have tried, and it will become something that you are.

EVEN MORE IMPORTANT than the numerous physical health benefits associated with nudity are the psychological and attitudinal advantages induced by the realization of the moral neutrality and simple innocence of nudity per se. When we realize that the coverings we have placed on our bodies have nothing to do with desirable moral attributes, the way is open to the startling revelation that our psychological envelopes, attitudes and opinions may also constitute undesirable armor shielding us from otherwise attainable beauty and truth.

Psychological shells or envelopes, like clothing, can protect and insulate against undesirable environmental forces and situations. Such envelopes, again like clothing, can also have adverse consequences, such as mental illness, inability to reach out to others across the barriers of differentness, and may also be the cause for mankind's most serious illness -- the inability to love others.

It's time to be able to assume psychological nudity of which physical nudity is symbolic. Let us shed the silly and harmful apparel of hate, sloth and the desire to exploit. Let us truly be naked, inwardly as well as externally. Let us be free to soar in pure love and delight. Free to learn and be open to creativity. Free again to be the real person, the simple child we all really are. Free to love and play.

No man can emancipate himself, except by emancipating with him all the men around him. My liberty is the liberty of everyone, for I am not truly free, free not only in thought but in deed, except when my liberty and my rights find their confirmation, their sanction, in the liberty and the rights of all men, my equals.

The basics...
In New Zealand there is no specific law proscribing nakedness in public. There are two sections of the Summary Offences Act 1981 to consider. First - obscene/indecent exposure (S27) and second, behaviour which may be offensive or disorderly (S4)

The first: S27, has been accepted as inappropriate for mere nudity because a lewd or lascivious element must be proved. Under S4, an appeal against a conviction of offensive behaviour has been allowed by the High Court, on the grounds that intent to offend (forensically), has to be proved. A conviction for disorderly behaviour, though, has been upheld by the High Court, in a case where the nakedness was in a suburban street. (Not a place where the defence of it being: 'not uncommon' or 'known to occur,' applied.) It is worth noting that the police's chief prosecutor in the Office of the Commissioner accepts that where the nakedness 'is known to occur' or 'is not uncommon,' it can be "said to be not illegal." (Unfortunately that hasn't stopped North Shore City writing a bylaw trying to say it is!)

In other words, having your gear off in the street is likely to get you a $100-$200 fine (if you either get a 'legitimate' complaint laid against you, or you ignore a policeman's warning). Otherwise, on a beach where 'everyone knows about it' you're fairly safe.

In 1990 New Zealand enacted a statute to affirm recognition of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights; which both declare the human person to have inherent dignity and worth. That statute is the Bill of Rights Act.

That 'dignity and worth' obviously cannot be selectively applied to chosen bits - it must apply to the complete human person - if it is not the whole person, it is meaningless.

Therefore no part of the being which has inherent dignity and worth, can be rationally determined to be an attack on society. No mere part of a human form can rationally 'offend' or 'disorder' the average reasonable person - as conflated with the Bill of Rights. If that average reasonable person, that is: the Bill of Rights Act itself; is not offended or disordered, any reaction that is inconsistent with that now defined norm, must be forensically unreasonable and thus disregarded.

Any volunteers to let the police and courts know...?
